Ban Best Practices
This two word phrase can be heard in many places, situations, seminars and I’m sure in more than one language in this digital marketing age. But we don’t live by the infamous ‘Best Practices’ mantra…we don’t even use the words.
By definition (per Wiki-Pedia) Best Practices can be defined as:
A Best practice is the belief that there is a technique, method, process, activity, incentive or reward that is more effective at delivering a particular outcome than any other technique, method, process, etc. The idea is that with proper processes, checks, and testing, a desired outcome can be delivered with fewer problems and unforeseen complications. Best practices can also be defined as the most efficient (least amount of effort) and effective (best results) way of accomplishing a task, based on repeatable procedures that have proven themselves over time for large numbers of people.
Our team at Jennifer Barbee, Inc. doesn’t believe that living by the same standard process is a healthy way to successfully stay ahead of the curve. It takes a dedicated group of marketers to think ahead and outside the “best practices box”. In a digital world where there is no break from change, why would our service and ideas be based on a list of what’s worked in the past? This isn’t the past…and we won’t see the past again.
Dare we say…we don’t live by Best Practices. We don’t abide by the standard and we don’t stick with what we have found to work the best in the past. We strive to find what works better, everyday, for the future. There is no break from that and there is no break from the change that is seen in this fast paced digital world.
Gotta run…obviously there is a lot of work to be done and we don’t have time to get behind.
