6 Months of Trends for Everyone and a Huge Lesson

This months report on TrendWatching.com teaches us that catching up is the new looking ahead.  Summarizing trends of the recent past, they remind us their 6 latest trend reports over the last 6 months:

  1. Foreverism: “Consumers and businesses embracing conversations, lifestyles and products that are ‘never done.’”
  2. Innovation Jubilation: “50+ new business ideas that defy doom and gloom.”
  3. Sellsumers:  “If saving is the new spending, then selling is the new saving.”
  4. Eco-Bounty: “From ECO-FRUGAL to ECO-METERING, future profits will be green.”
  5. Generation-G:  “That would be G for ‘Generosty’, not G for ‘Greed’ ;-)
  6. Nichetributes, Luxyoury, Feedback 3.0, Econcierge, Mapmania & Happy Ending

This month’s report at TrendWatching.com brings up an interesting point, and a really great lesson for driving traffic on your web site.  It’s never a bad idea to go back and summarize where you’ve been and what you’ve written about over the past however long.  I see this all the time with the “larger” blogs that go back and publish an article titled “What you missed,” or whatever.  The fact is that most people have had a chance to read everything on your site, and many times, the ones that have read most your content, would like a reminder of some of the great stuff you’ve written.  So, the lesson is never by shy to link back to old content.
