Focus on Your Fans
When it comes to social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc., most businesses, individuals or organizations have one main goal in mind: increase fans, followers, friends. While increasing the number of interested parties and potential customers is always an important goal, I’m here to encourage something extra: listen to your fans.
Focus on building new ones, of course, but also listen carefully to the ones you currently have. People who take the time to become a fan or a friend make for a valuable audience. They care enough to make an effort, and they pay attention to what you’re doing. These are some of the people who can provide invaluable feedback and suggestions.
So pay attention to them. If they rave about a product, service or operation, listen! It’s probably something worth giving extra consideration to. If they criticize or detract, listen to that, too. Constructive criticism can go a long way.
This is beneficial, cost-effective information that can be a major asset to your business. So pay attention! After all, who would we be without our fans?
