Buy Facebook Credits with Your Phone?!?

With Facebook having 70% of its audience outside the United States, it makes perfect sense to allow the user to choose a  payment method that is available to them. According to Facebook’s blog, Facebook could be launching a new option for online payment!! Facebook Credits, the virtual currency, can now be purchased with your mobile phone. So for those of you who don’t have a credit card, or who don’t want to use a credit card, hey, use your phone to make a payment. Facebook’s first mobile payment test is now live on Zong and very similar to the flow of Zong. When purchasing Facebook Credits in the gift shop or other Facebook applications, users are now presented with two payment options – your credit card and your mobile phone.

So how does paying with your mobile phone work? When you have chosen the mobile payment option, when prompted, enter your mobile phone number. You will then receive a confirmation pin number via text. When you have received your confirmation pin, enter the pin into the  gift shop confirmation, and the Facebook Credits will then billed to your mobile account. Be sure and  keep yourself aware of the cost that will be applied to your account by your mobile carrier.

The next time you purchase Facebook Credits or other Facebook applications, keep an eye out on what type of payment methods are available to you.
