Mobile Ads Served to Smartphones Spike
Mobile ads are still an untapped area for many marketers, but a new study reported by eMarketer shows that advertisers are definitely jumping on board the smartphone market, with nearly half of mobile ads being served to these devices.
With the rise of iPhones, Droids and other handheld gizmos, advertising is taking major strides along as the new technologies. 45% percent of mobile ads are now served to Smartphones, with 34% served to feature phones and 21% served to connected devices.

iPhones currently dominate the ad serving market, but Android phones are making the quickest upward climb, with ad requests rising 72% month over month. This number is likely to continue growing, given the increasing number of cool app and other opportunities for placement.
