It’s a New Decade…Is Our Technology Up to Par?

picture-jetsons-gerry-dvorakAccording to the Hollywood Reporter, one-third of Americans don’t think so. Where are the robotic servants? The flying cars? These are some of the questions consumers surveyed are wondering as we enter into 2010.

The survey conducted by Zogby International Survey and commissioned by the web site ScoopDaily, concluded:

  • About 21% of people believe we are more technologically advanced than they thought we would be by 2010, while 37% believed we are on target for their expectations.
  • About a third of people 70 years and older said they thought current technology was more advanced than they thought it would be.
  • Not surprisingly, men were more likely than women to say they thought there would have been greater advances by 2010 to the Jetson lifestyle with its flying saucer-like cars and robotic servants.

Realistically, our technology is advancing at record speeds, most influenced by the amount of media outlets consumers have access to on a daily basis and the amount of production happening with technology producing companies who are falling over each other trying to outdo and outnumber sales and current technology.

No matter what we can hold in our hands right now, or what we see in testing and trial, we will continue to wonder “What’s Next?” as we enter into a new technologically advanced era.
