Travelers: To Each His Own
There are more places to visit on this planet than any of us could ever hope to see. That’s what makes traveling so incredible. So many options, so many changes of scenery, so much to see that’s new and fresh! How could you ever tire of it?
This also means that, as a traveler, you have a prerogative to travel in your own way. Certain destinations will call to you, others won’t. Some of us are planners, others wanderers. Some enjoy eco adventures, others love luxury. There’s something for everyone in this wide world – so seek out what you love.
One thing I’ve learned in my many years of traveling – you have to do things your way. Work and the daily necessities of life take up so much of our time, it seems there’s not much left to travel. So, when you plan your getaways, make sure you do the things you enjoy.
When you’re part of a group or family, of course compromise is necessary, but still – you need to find time for your specific interests. Trips gone awry are typically the ones that involve a lot of forced activities or overly planned excursions. Don’t let others tell you how to spend your time, or you might head home regretful or unhappy.
Leave some “me” time, no matter what the rest of your plans involve. Pick a place you’ve always wanted to see, hit up a spa or take a boat ride. Do the things you want to do – because your memories will be what you carry home from your vacation. It’s all about finding your travel style/interests and sticking with it. That’s what the best trips are made of.
