What I’m Thankful For – Drew Barbee

One of the many things that I am thankful for this year is Google apps. Understanding the end needs of our organization, there were many software solutions that we wanted to implement that were just not possible on a smaller scale.

Google Apps gave us centrally hosted email, MS Exchange capabilities, Shared workspaces, chat and video integration.  It gives us everything we need to collaborate quickly with documents, resources and information without the outrageous costs of support and maintenance.  It is helping us to remain flexible and relevant in our internal communications.  The web tools are simple and easily edited.  The community that comes with it helps us to solve any concerns or quickly plug in a solution for any of our working/growing issues.

But, of course, I cannot finish a ‘thankful’ blog without mentioning my family.

  • My parents and brother, who helped mold and shape the person I am today.
  • My two girls, Dakota and Andrea.  They each teach me something new every day . . .  lessons in temperance, patience and mostly love.  A smile from either of their faces is like being witness to what beauty truly is.
  • My wife Jennifer: my muse, my friend and my confidante.   One of a slight few that understands my dry humor, and one of the only people who can make me laugh.

TURkey

My only wish this season is that you will have the same warm feeling that I will:  a belly full of turkey and being surrounded by the only people who truly matter on this earth – your loved ones.

Happy Holidays!
