What I’m Thankful For – Stacy Farmer
This has been a great year, probably the best yet! I have experienced a lot in 2009 and have so much to be thankful for.
For example . . .
- My brother married his college sweetheart and I was able to be a part of all the special events
- I had the privilege to travel to India and partake in a foreign culture which is by far the most amazing place I have ever been – it was truly life changing.
- I went to California with my three best friends from High School … the four of us hadn’t been all together since freshman year of college so it was a much-needed trip!
- I found true love and got engaged to the man of my dreams.
- I packed up and moved to Corpus Christi, TX to be closer to my fiancé and found Jennifer Barbee Inc. mid-September. Man, did I luck out! I have had a great few months working with this committed team, and I can tell you – this is not your ordinary office. JB Inc. is a family and ready to take chances in this industry! I am all about taking chances and always ready for something new!
Now, getting down to what I’m most thankful for when it comes to the interactive world. Let me let you in on a little secret that I’ve discovered since I came on board at JB Inc. Do you often feel like you need some inspiration? I do! And this year, I’m really thankful for StumbleUpon.com, a site that provokes ideas and teaches me something new every day. Whenever I get stuck, I log on to Stumble Upon.
You create your own custom profile and there are over 500 topics to choose from, so you can find exactly what interests you. As you “stumble” you rate “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” on the articles, blogs, or photos that come across. If you like a certain site you can always save it or send it to a friend.

The site recommends similar sites so it acts as a relationship-builder, and the more it gets to know your interests, the more it can predict other things you’ll like. My profile is focused mostly on different types of art mediums, because I generally enjoy reading travel blogs, wedding ideas, and looking at photography.
Stumble Upon really takes you out of your day-to-day life and allows you to discover something new! If you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, or to learn something new, I suggest you make a profile and see what inspires you!
