“My Day at Jennifer Barbee Inc.”

At Jennifer Barbee Inc., we’re all about fresh new talent, innovative ideas and welcoming new people into our tech-savvy crew! Yesterday we had an awesome addition to our office who brought his top-notch skills to the JB Inc. headquarters for Career Shadow Day – our new friend and co-worker, 12-year-old Luke Hagy.

During his busy, fruitful day with JB, Luke helped us negotiate with Google, shared his feedback on some of our design work, and assisted with Account Management duties. We couldn’t have done it without you, Luke!

Check out Luke’s recap of his day with us below:

My Day at Jennifer Barbee, Inc.

“Jennifer Barbee, Inc. is a web site development and marketing agency.  They work with mostly travel related clients.  I was very lucky to spend the day with such a cool and smart team of people.

My morning started out with meeting the team and showing me around the office.  The office is out of this world cool, very bright colors and lots of designs on the wall. I want my office someday to be like that.  My first assignment was to call a man named Jason from Google so that Drew Barbee “Big Boss” could have an update on their proposal from Google.  I called and left a message for the dude. WAY COOL!

Next, the team had a staff meeting that I was able to sit in on.  They talked about a proposal that they were working on for one of their clients, Baton Rouge.  Everyone had a part in the proposal, and it was cool to listen to how they worked together on it.  They even asked my opinion on the website designs!

We all ate lunch together and talked about each one of their jobs and what they did.  Ben, one of their designers showed me how he designed a website.  It was so cool to watch and he was really fast.

After lunch, I shadowed Felicity Nava.  “Fel” is an account manager. She takes care of a bunch of stuff for the clients.  While I worked with her she taught me how to “tag” pictures for a website, and I did 3 pages of tagging for one of their Florida Clients.

My career shadow day was awesome!  I met a whole bunch of cool people.  I learned a bunch of interesting things like demographics, tagging, designing web pages and marketing.  AND, BEST OF ALL! I GOT PAID $50 BUCKS FOR THE DAY.  I hope I get to go back and work with them again.” – Luke Hagy

We can’t wait to have you back, too, Luke!
