The Integration of Social Marketing

At this point in the evolution of marketing, most organizations understand the importance of social media to their overall efforts. But, a new study by marketing management firm Unica, as reported by emarketer, shows that integration is still lacking.

While 70% of responding companies have integrated voting features/product reviews into marketing campaigns, only 41% have integrated third-party social networking sites.

For campaigns that are lacking integration, the work won’t come full circle, and marketers are missing out on a key tool when it comes to viral spread and brand awareness. Social media, because of its flexibility and wide reach, is the perfect platform for integration. Any outside efforts can be promoted through social media, and most definitely vice versa.

So what are your thoughts? Are your campaigns fully integrated with your social media efforts? Post a comment, let us know!
